You have received your gallery, and the photos are stunning. The light is perfect, the colors are vibrant, and the emotion is palpable. But then you zoom in. Maybe there is a temporary blemish on your chin that appeared the morning of the wedding, or perhaps a tourist wandered into the background of your favorite beach portrait. You love the photo, but you want that one little thing fixed.
A common question from clients is: Can we request additional edits or retouching? The answer is Yes. I want you to love every inch of your photos. While my standard delivery includes a polished edit, I understand that sometimes specific details require extra attention. This post explains Adrian Bonet Photography’s policy on retouching, breaking down what is included and what might incur an additional fee.

The Baseline: What is Already Done
The Signature Look
Before you even ask for changes, it is important to understand what you receive initially. Every photo in your gallery undergoes Global Editing. This means I have already adjusted the Color Balance, corrected the Exposure, and applied my signature artistic grade. The photos are delivered as a finished, professional product, ready for printing and sharing.
Consistency Check
I also ensure Visual Consistency across the gallery. If we took a series of portraits, I make sure the skin tones look the same in all of them. You generally won’t need to ask for changes regarding the overall brightness or color style, as this is the core of the artwork you hired me to create.
Included: Basic Retouching
Temporary Blemishes
My rule of thumb for retouching is simple: if it is temporary, it goes. Basic Retouching is included in your package for key portraits. This includes removing temporary blemishes like acne or a shaving cut. It also includes softening distracting shine on the face caused by the humidity.
Minor Distractions
If there is a small, distracting element that draws the eye away from the subject, I will often remove it during my initial edit. This includes things like a bright red exit sign in a dark room or a piece of trash on the beach. These minor clean-ups are part of my commitment to delivering a clean, professional image.
Extra: Advanced Retouching
Altering Reality
Requests that involve significantly altering the reality of the image fall under Advanced Retouching. Because this work is time-consuming and often requires specialized techniques, it is billed at an additional hourly rate. This category includes removing people from the background, such as a crowd of tourists on the beach.
Cosmetic Changes
If you request changes to your physical appearance, this is also considered advanced work. This includes altering body shapes, changing hair color, whitening teeth beyond a natural look, or removing permanent features like scars or moles (unless previously discussed). Swapping heads from one photo to another (e.g., “put my smile from photo A onto my body in photo B”) is a complex composite task that also falls into this category.
How to Make a Request
Review Your Gallery First
I recommend living with your photos for a few days before making requests. Often, the things you scrutinize immediately become less noticeable as you focus on the emotion of the memory. However, if something still bothers you, simply email me the file numbers along with a description of what you would like changed.
Quotes and Approval
For advanced requests, I will review the images and provide you with a custom quote based on the estimated time it will take to complete the work. Work will only begin once you have approved the cost. This ensures there are no surprises, and you get exactly the results you are looking for.
Final Thoughts
My goal is for you to look at your photos and see the best version of yourself, not a stranger. I believe in editing that enhances your natural beauty rather than masking it.
When you book Adrian Bonet Photography, you can be confident that the standard delivery will be beautiful. And for those rare instances where reality needs a little digital nudge, I am here to help ensure every detail is perfect.
