Anthony and Inessa had us as their wedding photographers, and they went for the 5-hour photo shoot package. We had the privilege of capturing their special day in April. The morning of the big day kicked off with the bride and groom getting prepped at the fantastic Sandos Caracol Eco Resort. They looked so stunning, and the excitement was palpable in the air.
The main event, the wedding ceremony, took place at the Beach Gazebo of the resort, and it was nothing short of breathtaking. The serene backdrop of the beach added an extra layer of magic to the moment when they said their “I dos.” Love was truly in the air, and our cameras were there to capture every heartwarming moment.
As the day transitioned into night, the newlyweds and their guests headed to the Royal Elite Rooftop Terrace at the same resort for the final dinner.
The twinkling lights and the night sky provided a mesmerizing atmosphere for an unforgettable celebration. And we were right there, snapping away, to make sure every memory was preserved.
Now, without further ado, here are some of the finest snapshots we took on that beautiful day. We hope these photos help Anthony and Inessa relive their special day, and we’re grateful to have been part of it all. If you’re planning your own big day, we’d be thrilled to be your photographers, too. Just drop us a message, and we’ll be there to capture your precious moments. Cheers to love and laughter!

Wedding Photographer FAQ’S
Can I bring my own external photographer to Sandos Caracol?
Yes! You are absolutely welcome to bring me in as an outside vendor. The resort does require an outside vendor fee, but if you book me as a guest for a minimum of 3 nights, that fee is usually waived. I highly recommend hiring a dedicated photographer because I am already familiar with the specific vendor policies here and know how to navigate the resort’s eco-logistics to ensure a seamless experience on your big day.
What are the best locations for wedding photos at the resort?
The resort is unique because it is immersed in nature—featuring jungle paths, natural waterways, and beachfront views—but I know exactly where to take you for the most stunning backdrops. Whether it’s the crystal-clear waters of the natural Cenote, the ancient Mayan Ruins located right on the property, or the lush suspension bridges, I know where the hidden gems are. This ensures we get a huge variety of looks without wasting your precious time wandering the jungle.
Does the resort package include photography services?
While some Sandos packages include basic photography, it is often limited regarding hours and image count. My clients usually prefer hiring me independently to ensure full-day coverage—capturing everything from your getting-ready moments to the late-night reception party. When you work with me, I guarantee a consistent artistic style and a personal connection that goes far beyond the standard resort offerings.
How do we handle transportation for photos on such a nature-focused property?
Because Sandos Caracol is spread out with many winding eco-paths, walking between locations in wedding attire can be exhausting. I prioritize your comfort by coordinating golf cart transportation with the concierge ahead of time. My logistical experience here allows us to zip between the Cenote ceremony deck and the beachside gazebo quickly, maximizing your time celebrating with guests while I still capture those cinematic portraits.
When is the best time for wedding photos in the Riviera Maya?
Lighting is everything in the Caribbean. The mid-day sun can be incredibly harsh, so I always recommend we schedule your romantic portraits during “Golden Hour,” roughly an hour before sunset. I will help you build your wedding timeline to take full advantage of this soft light—or utilize the shaded jungle canopy earlier in the day—ensuring your photos look dreamy rather than overexposed, while perfectly timing the transition from your ceremony to the reception.
Can we get sunset photos over the ocean at Sandos Caracol?
It is important to remember that on the Caribbean coast of Mexico, the sun rises over the ocean and sets over the jungle side. I will schedule our couple’s session to capture the stunning soft light of the “Golden Hour” on the beach, but if you truly want the sun coming up directly over the water, I might suggest a “First Look” session at sunrise. For the evening, I will position you to catch the beautiful colors filling the sky behind the lush mangrove canopy.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
One of the things I love about this eco-resort is its integration with nature. If tropical rain occurs, I know exactly where to find the best covered locations, such as the impressive thatched-roof walkways through the jungle, the open-air theatre area, or the covered terraces in the Select Club section. These backup spots ensure I can keep your gallery adventurous and authentic to the jungle vibe regardless of the weather.
Is Sandos Caracol suitable for large weddings?
Absolutely. Sandos Caracol is a premier destination for unique celebrations, capable of hosting everything from intimate Mayan ceremonies at the Cenote to larger receptions on the expansive beach deck or the Mapache terrace. I am well-versed in navigating these diverse eco-locations, understanding the lighting challenges of the Cenote Cristalino, and how to manage larger groups moving through the jungle paths to capture every ritual perfectly.
Where are the best spots for a “First Look” away from guests?
Because the resort is a popular family destination, the main aquapark and pool areas can be busy. However, I know several secluded spots, such as the quiet suspension bridges, the ancient Mayan ruins on-site, and hidden trails near the cenotes that offer much more privacy. As your photographer, I scout these secluded locations beforehand to ensure your intimate first look remains private and free of bystanders in the background.
Do we need a second shooter for a Sandos Caracol wedding?
Given the sprawling layout of the property—which involves navigating winding jungle paths between the lobby, the beach, and the Cenote—I highly recommend a second shooter. While I am with the bride in the Select Club area, my second photographer can cover the groom getting ready in the Family section. Working with a team ensures that we don’t miss a single moment while travelling between these unique, nature-immersed locations.
